Neova-developed Lamminneva and Isoneva solar power projects move forward

The Lamminneva and Isoneva solar power projects developed by Neova Group are moving forward. Swedish company Rabbalshede Kraft AB are building the solar parks in Lappajärvi, South Ostrobothnia, and Suonenjoki, North Savo. These will be Rabbalshede Kraft’s first solar parks built in Finland.

The Lamminneva solar park will have a capacity of 36.7 MWp and Isoneva 71.5 MWp. Their combined annual production is estimated at 98 GWh, corresponding to the electricity consumption of approximately 9,800 households. Both solar parks will be located on former peat production areas, giving the sites a new, long-term purpose.

The projects are part of the cooperation between Neova and Rabbalshede Kraft, launched in 2024 to develop renewable energy projects. Under the cooperation model, Neova develops the projects to a construction-ready stage, after which Rabbalshede Kraft takes them forward to the investment decision and construction phases. Lamminneva and Isoneva are the first solar power projects under the cooperation to reach the construction phase.

“The construction of these two solar power projects marks a significant milestone for Neova. They are the first projects from Neova’s extensive renewable energy development portfolio to be implemented. Former peat production areas are generally well suited for solar power development, creating significant potential for Neova’s future project development,” says Lauri Alanen, Director of Solar and Wind Power Development at Neova.

The solar parks are scheduled to become operational in spring 2027. The projects have also been awarded a total of EUR 9.1 million in EU funding through the RENEWFM renewable energy financing mechanism.

Neova and Rabbalshede Kraft signed a cooperation agreement in November 2024 covering nine renewable energy projects. The portfolio includes hybrid solar and wind parks as well as solar power projects across Finland. Together, the projects have a planned nominal capacity of up to 1.4 GW of solar and wind power.
