Ropolansuo’s solar power project is progressing
Neova is planning a 240-megawatt solar power plant in Ropolansuo, Mikkeli, a former peat production area. If implemented, the plant would cover an area of approximately 450 hectares, and its production would correspond to the annual electricity consumption of more than 13,000 electrically heated detached houses.
During the spring and summer of 2025, more detailed nature surveys have been carried out in the project area. During the rest of the year, an EIA (the environmental impact assessment) needs assessment application will be submitted to the South Savo Ely Centre (Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment).
The panel modelling video provides a visual view of what the solar park could look like in the future.
