Clean Waters business is now Vapo Clean Waters Ltd

The purpose of the arrangement is to strengthen the development and growth opportunities of the operations. The arrangement does not affect the nature of the business or the ongoing projects or customerships.

The head office of the business is still located in Jyväskylä and the business is pursued throughout Finland, in future, also internationally. The current personnel were transferred to the new company as existing personnel in connection with the asset deal. Mia Suominen has been appointed the chairwoman of the company’s board of directors and Marika Ryyppö as the business director.

Clean Waters was started as Vapo’s start-up business at the beginning of 2014, with the aim of commercialising Vapo’s long-term know-how about cleaning natural waters into products and services. Clean Waters had a flying start and today it serves all operators who want to reduce emissions to waterways.

“Incorporation supports well Clean Waters’ growth targets and, in part, marks a new phase in the development of the recently started business,” says Marika Ryyppö, Business Director.

“With Clean Waters, Vapo has proved its agility in its renewal process,” says Mia Suominen, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “This is an excellent example of internal entrepreneurship in the organisation. The aim of Vapo Ventures is to continue to develop new, innovation business solutions.”
